Andante is a full-service hair studio on North Central Avenue, cutting women's, men's and children's hair. Everything is by appointment. Below is what happens in the chair — for what any of it costs, or how long it takes, call the shop, because it depends on your hair.
Women's haircuts & styling
Cuts, trims, layers, bangs, blowouts and styling. We start with your hair's actual texture and how much time you are willing to spend on it in the morning, then cut to that.
Men's haircuts
Scissor cuts, clipper cuts, tapers and fades. Straightforward, quick, and cut the same way the next time you come in.
Color & highlights
Single-process color, gray coverage, highlights and lowlights. Color takes longer than a cut and the result depends on where your hair is starting from, so say so when you book.
Beard & neckline
Beard trims, shaping and neckline cleanup. Easy to add onto a cut — mention it when you book.
Perms
Classic perms and body waves — the kind that give fine hair some body, or turn a straight set into a soft curl that holds. Fewer places still do these properly. More about perms →
Kids' haircuts
Kids are welcome at Andante. If it is a first haircut, say so when you book and there will be time for it to go slowly.
Not sure which of these you need, or want to know what something costs? Call (773) 283-2770 during shop hours and just ask. Nobody is going to upsell you over the phone.
Good to know
Before you come in
By appointment. Andante is not a walk-in shop — every chair is booked, which is why nobody is rushed out of one. Call during shop hours and you will get a time.
Hours. Tuesday through Saturday, 10am to 6pm. Closed Sunday and Monday. Every appointment has to finish by close, so the last slot of the day depends on what you are booking.
Payment. Cash and cards are both fine.
